Thirteen numbered clues in verse, with a list of answers identifying most of the verses as being by Mr. Garrick (two are attributed to Mr. N.). The list also mentions six answers under the heading "Prose," but the clues in prose are not included. List of answers is labelled "Charrades."

David Garrick was raised in Lichfield, England, and became a leading actor, playwright and theatrical producer in London. From 1747 to 1776, he was a partner in the Drury Lane Theatre.
